MCCSC Adult Education serves students who are at least 16 years of age and not attending high school. The core elements of our program are education, training, and employment. Achieving these has an immediate impact on the adults themselves and a lasting impact on their families. We further support our students by offering morning, afternoon, and evening classes at various locations, including Broadview Learning Center, Ivy Tech, WorkOne, Monroe County Jail, and on-site at our partner employers’ workplaces.

About Us School Leadership

Workforce Education Initiative

We partner with businesses to provide education and training that enable employees to upgrade their skills and increase their eligibility for promotion. Our most recent partnership with Cook Group involves providing employees with preparation for the high school equivalency tests in a classroom provided by Ivy Tech. After earning their diploma, students qualify for full-time work in production and other career opportunities. Additional partnerships include the Monroe County Correctional Center, Indiana University, MCCSC, IU Health, and Jumble FireFood LLC.

We partner with the Indiana University School of Social Work to provide students with support for addressing barriers to success, such as finding affordable childcare, housing, food, and transportation. Additionally, we partner with several organizations to provide career advising and placement services, including WorkOne, Monroe County Public Library, Monroe County Correctional Center, mStreet Fiber, IvyTech Community College, INAEYC, and Sherwood Oaks Christian Church.

Supportive Services

The accomplishments you will make in adult education will be life-changing and rewarding, and it might involve some sacrifices along the way. We are here to help! Through collaboration with our community partners, we can offer life coaching, placement into further training, and employment placement. We also have a Bloomington Transit bus stop near by. We purchase a handful of bus fares. If you need them, just ask.
